Senior Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer at Ctrl+G you will build the infrastructure that closes the gap between AI offense and defense. Models are writing code faster than humans can review it, and the attack surface is exploding. Your systems will power the benchmarks, training environments, and evaluations that teach models to write secure code and enable autonomous cyber defenses.
This role is engineering-first with a strong research and cyber component. You will design, build, and scale production systems that must run reliably, integrate with frontier labs, and support large-scale evaluations. You'll architect distributed pipelines, build backend services, and create tooling that helps researchers measure what models can actually secure, exploit, and defend.
Representative responsibilities
- Architecting and scaling production-grade infrastructure for large-scale model evaluations and training data generation.
- Building backend services, APIs, and monitoring tools that support cyber capabilities benchmarks.
- Designing systems that run realistic attack and defense simulations at scale.
- Implementing agent frameworks and sandboxed environments for automated security testing.
- Building challenges that measure whether models can evade detection, exploit vulnerabilities, or operate stealthily on remote systems.
You may be a good fit if you
- Have strong software engineering fundamentals and multiple years of production experience.
- Thrive in a fast environment, with radical candor (we don't like bs).
- Enjoy building at the intersection of engineering and applied research.
- Are interested in AI and cybersecurity (experience in machine learning or security infrastructure is a plus but not required).
- Understand that we're in a race—and the systems you build will help determine who wins it.
